"Individual Self Defense is the Central Component of the 2nd Amendment"

GOAL is very excited this morning the US Supreme Court has once again recognized the Second Amendment as an individual civil right, with self-defense as its central component. The Court held that “New York’s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms in public for self-defense.”

We are absolutely thrilled by the Supreme Court’s decision this morning and we recognize how important today is for the civil rights of all US citizens who want to responsibly exercise their Second Amendment civil rights. While this decision will certainly have an impact on our rights as lawful and responsible gun-owners in Massachusetts, it is important that we take some time to digest and figure out what it actually means for Massachusetts license holders and firearms owners. We ask our members to be patient as we work through this process with legal counsel and determine what the next steps will be. We will keep you up to date as often as possible as to what our actions will be moving forward.
