GOAL APPLAUDS EFFORTS TO SEEK CLARITY FROM HEALEY’S OFFICE
Gun Owners’ Action League (GOAL) today applauded House Minority Leader Brad Jones for his leadership efforts during budget debate to seek clarity from Attorney General Healey’s office.
Attorney General Healey’s office came under scrutiny from many members of the legislature late last summer following her unprecedented reinterpretation of many laws pertaining to firearms ownership in Massachusetts.
“House Minority Leader Jones’ efforts to withhold Healey’s budget increase was the right thing to do,” said GOAL Executive Director Jim Wallace, “the amendment stood for transparency and clarity in government and the constitution, we applaud that. Healey never disclosed documents requested in GOAL’s FOIA and never replied to multiple letters, (see bottom of page) supported by more than eighty members of the legislature.
GOAL applauds all members of the legislature who stood with House Minority Leader Jones. His efforts should be an example for all members of the legislature who believe in fair and transparent government.
