Managing the Aftermath of a Self-Defense Event
June 19 @ 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM$75.00
The aftermath of a use of force event is traumatic for any good guy or gal, especially if you are forced to shoot someone in self-defense. Whether you “simply” show your gun, draw your gun, or in the extreme case fire your gun at another human being, you are potentially in a heap of trouble with the law. Also, the stress associated with the use of deadly force, which a gun represents, can result in behaviors and statements that might not be in your best interest as a responsible citizen. Knowing standard police procedures and your rights as a citizen can be critical to maintaining your innocence. If you are an armed responsible citizen, you would be wise to learn about how to manage the aftermath of a use of force event which includes: the 9-1-1 Call, interactions with uniformed police, and the interrogation process with detectives. Your knowledge of how to appropriately invoke your right to be silent, your right to an attorney, and your right in reference to search and seizure can be critical to an honest, responsible and legal gun owner who has been forced to go to his/her gun. While the session will explore these aforementioned areas, it will also review other related areas, such as keeping you safe and legal.
