MetroWest Tactical Donates John Kelly Memorial Match Fees to Advance Junior Shooting Opportunities

For those of you who never had the honor of sharing the range with John Kelly, I can tell you that he was a great teacher, mentor and guardian for all we hold near and dear.
John passed away in 2010. His memory lives on thanks to the dedication of Metrowest Tactical and the Harvard Sportsmen's Club. This past August, the MWT IDPA Group hosted the 2nd Annual John Kelly Memorial practical shooting match.
Stages were a mixture of all the various pistol sports that John participated in. Match Director John Catterall, along with Harvard Sportsmen's Club IDPA Officers Michael Joffe and Gene Gelberger forwarded a check to GOAL for $1360 in memory of John.
GOAL's Director of Education and Training Jon Green applied the funds to further youth shooting in the Commonwealth. One slot for next year's Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp has been slated for a John Kelly Scholarship. GOAL also acquired 2 Ruger MKIII pistols for the Scholastic Steel Challenge.
The Staff is quite sure John Kelly would be pleased with how these funds have been applied.
Thanks to all that attended and made this great event possible, we look forward to next year!
